Species: Dwarves
-
Not all the beings who arrived on Earth during the Faetide were of the Fae. The Dwarves, explorers of the many realms, came through the Faetide portals too. They saw a platinum opportunity to explore a new world full of resources. The dauntless adventurers brought much cunning, technology, and lore to our world. They were the first developers of cybernetic augments, and with their expertise, implants became more and more commonplace.
-
What surprised both Dwarfdom and humanity alike was how accurate earth’s dwarven lore was. The lorekeepers of the dwarves, known for their long lives and longer memories, had no records of any expeditions to earth before the current age. Some of the foremost scholars now work to uncover this mystery. What makes the story stranger is that the Dwarves who had arrived on Earth during the Faetide lost contact with their fellows on the other side of wherever they came from soon after arriving.
-
Much of the larger and more cumbersome technologies that the dwarves brought along were either lost in the nuclear disaster after the Faetide or were stolen, sold off, or secreted away by their clans. These rare and magnificently crafted objects are worth fortunes even in disrepair. For now, dwarves make due with the earthly equivalents to their masterworks. Some however, work to develop and craft for the future with their memories of the past.
-
Dwarves come in many different varieties and looks. Many dwarves practice magic and those that specialize in the crafting of Mystic Charms and Weapons of Legend are highly sought after by Corps and Mercs alike. Dwarves' appearances vary from clan to clan, but they seem to be as varied as humans. On average Dwarves stand between 3.5 and 5 feet tall and can weigh between 120 and 250 lbs being a hardy and compact folk. Dwavenkind also tend to have softer, rounder features and both male and female dwarves can grow luxurious and magnificent hair.
